What Is a Smart Home?
A "smart home" is a residence equipped with household products and devices that connect to the internet to automate tasks that you would normally handle manually. From smart speakers that respond to voice commands to smart thermostats that you control from your smartphone, internet-connected devices are designed to make our homes smarter and more responsive to our everyday needs.

What's in the BGE Smart Home Kit?
The BGE Smart Home Kit is prepackaged with all the essentials you'll need to get your smart home up and running.
Connects to your home internet using the provided Ethernet cable and acts as the centralized hub for all of your BGE Smart Home devices. This hub allows you to control and monitor your smart home from any location via your iOS or Android device.
Control and monitor household electronics like your entertainment center, small kitchen appliances and office equipment via your mobile device. With smart plugs, you can schedule your plugs to turn on and off at certain times and monitor how much energy certain appliances use. These devices can help identify which household items might be consuming the most energy.
Smart LEDs enable you to switch your lights on and off using your mobile device. Whether you forget to turn off the living room light or don’t like returning to a dark home, smart LEDs, when paired with your Smart Home, make saving energy easy and convenient.
Monitor your doors and windows to ensure you aren't accidentally wasting energy by having one open while you’re running the heat or air conditioning. If a window or door is opened or closed while you’re actively heating or cooling your home, these sensors will send an alert to your phone.
Detect motion in your home using infrared technology. Motion sensors help your BGE Smart Home detect when you enter or leave a room and can be set up to automatically turn lights on and off and adjust the thermostat to make sure you’re comfortable and your home is also energy efficient.
Temperature and Humidity Sensors
Monitor the temperature and humidity in your home. These sensors make your smart thermostat even smarter and help ensure that you’re comfortable in any room during any weather.
