What is BGE Marketplace?
BGE Marketplace is an online store that offers instant rebates on many energy-related products. All items in the store have been researched by industry experts and are recommended by BGE.
How do I find products on BGE Marketplace?
You can view the available products by selecting a category from the navigation bar and clicking on each product for more details. BGE Marketplace’s home page also features energy-saving products you can click on for more details.
What can I buy on BGE Marketplace?
We offer a variety of smart thermostats, connected home products, lighting products, water saving products, and advanced power strips. We regularly add new products, and we update our inventory according to demand and availability.
How do I review a product?
You can add a review by clicking on the product, scrolling down to the “Product Reviews” tab and clicking on “Write a review.”
Which products are eligible for rebates?
Our goal is to make it easy and affordable for you to buy the latest energy products for your home. That's why many of the products on BGE Marketplace are eligible for instant rebates. Below each product, you'll see a quick description of any available rebates.
How do I apply for rebates?
When products eligible for an instant rebate are added to your cart, an “Apply Rebates” button will appear. Click “Apply Rebates” and complete the verification process. Your instant rebate will be automatically applied after verification.
Is everyone eligible for a rebate?
To be eligible for rebates, you must be a BGE residential customer. For Smart Thermostat purchases, customers must also have a heat pump, gas furnace, gas boiler, and/or central air conditioning unit to be eligible for a rebate.
How do I find out if I’m eligible for an instant rebate?
There are a few ways we can determine your eligibility:
- Enter your shipping address during the “Apply Rebates” process and click “Check Eligibility.”
- Enter your BGE account number during the “Apply Rebates” process and click “Check Eligibility.”
Please note that you must agree to the Rebate Terms and Conditions to be eligible for instant rebates.
What are the terms and conditions for BGE instant rebates?
When applying instant rebates to your purchases, you must agree to our Rebate Terms and Conditions.
What other rebates does BGE offer?
We also offer rebates on appliances and equipment purchased from other retailers. Please visit BGESmartEnergy.com for a full list of rebates and to apply online.
How do I get a discount code?
BGE Marketplace will email special discount codes throughout the year.
How do I apply my discount code?
Discount codes are entered and applied in the “Discount” field during checkout.
How do I login or register?
- You can login or create an account by clicking on the human icon in the top right corner. From there a drop down menu will appear with the option to “Login or Register.”
How do I view my order history?
- Login to your account, click on your name in the top right corner, then click “Account” to view your order history.
Forgot your password?
- You can initiate a password reset by clicking “Account” in the top right corner. From there a drop down menu will appear with the option to “Login or Register.” Click on “Login or Register” and then click “I've forgotten my password” to initiate a password reset.
Why should I sign into BGE Marketplace?
There are benefits to signing in:
- Provides access to your order history and details about each order (such as items in the order, a breakdown of charges, and shipping/billing address used).
- Pre-populates your shipping information based on the primary address of your electric service account (you can change it if you like).
To log out of your account, click on your name and select “Logout” from the drop-down menu.
What payment methods are accepted on BGE Marketplace?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover and Diners Club.
Why wasn’t I able to complete my credit card transaction?
Please check that your credit card information is correct. If you still can’t complete your transaction, please call us at 1-833-766-5151 and we will be happy to help.
How can I view and print my order confirmation?
You’ll receive a confirmation email with all your order details.
How do I track my order?
Tracking information will be included in the shipping confirmation email we send to you once your order ships.
Note: during peak seasonal and promotional periods, shipping estimates may be slightly delayed 3-5 business days. Please be on the lookout for your tracking email.
Can I cancel an order?
In order to get your order to you as quickly as possible, we begin processing your shipment immediately after you hit "submit". This means that unfortunately, we are unable to cancel orders for in stock items.
What if I received a damaged product?
Please contact us or call 1-833-766-5151. We will provide a pre-paid return shipping label and explain how to return your order.
Why is my item on backorder?
On rare occasions, popular products may be temporarily sold out but usually will be back in stock quickly. If you’d like to adjust your order, please contact us or call 1-833-766-5151. We are happy to help.
How do I view my previous orders?
When you sign in on BGE Marketplace, several options will appear in the box under your name. Select “BGE Marketplace account” to view your order history and details about each order.

Will BGE install my thermostat?
BGE does not offer installation services on smart thermostats purchased through the BGE marketplace. Please be aware of the installation requirements for each thermostat before purchasing. To check installation compatibility, please review the following:

Does my smart thermostat need a C-wire?
Some thermostats require a C-wire to power the device. Depending on the thermostat you buy, you may or may not need a C-wire. Please check the product details of the thermostats you’re considering to find out if a C-wire is required.
If the smart thermostat you’re buying requires a C-wire and an adapter is not included, you can purchase one separately (search for “C-wire adapter”) or a contractor can help you install the device.
Make sure to check your current wiring before purchasing any thermostat and review the installation compatibility checks listed above.
